The job opportunity

This is a hiring roundDisguised as a Contest

House of EduTech is hiring video editors. Rather than read a thousand CVs, we are watching a thousand edits — and the ones that stand up get an interview, a paid trial, and a full-time role.

You submit one edit

Six hours, real client footage, one brief. What you upload is the only thing that counts — no résumé screen, no referral, no portfolio gatekeeping.

Three judges score it

Independently, against a rubric published before you start. You get their scores and their written feedback whether you place or not.

Top performers get interviewed

A fast-tracked hiring interview — skipping the queue that every cold application sits in.

Paid trial, then the role

A real project, paid at professional rates. Clear that and it becomes a full-time editing role with us.

Didn't place? You still leave with something.

Strong submissions outside the top three go onto our vetted freelance roster — the list we hire from all year. Every valid entry gets an individual scorecard and judge feedback, which is yours to use however you like.

About the hackathon

A competition built likeA Real Client Brief

Editors don't lack contests — they lack proof. This one gives you real footage, a real deadline, a rubric you can read before you start, and a jury that will actually watch your work.

Who can participate

Any editor in India, 18 or older — freelance, in-house, agency, or student. Individual entries only. You need your own machine, your own software licence, and a working internet connection.

Challenge format

One day, one brief. You download real client footage from your dashboard when the event goes live, cut to the brief, and upload your final video before the deadline. There are no extensions.

How it's judged

Three judges score every submission independently against a rubric published in advance. Your final score is the average of their overall marks, to two decimals.

Hiring opportunity

The top performers go straight into our hiring funnel — a fast-tracked interview and a paid trial project. Every valid participant gets an individual scorecard and a place on our freelance roster shortlist.
